From cubicle to the stage: Not a usual “Kota Story”

From writing codes to writing poetries, from cubicle to the stage, no artist can be caged, is what Ayushi told people with her artform. Currently, out with her solo storytelling show, this girl is winning the hearts of New India.

Ayushi Karsauliya: Breaking Free from the Cubicle

Ayushi Karsauliya is a software developer turned passionate storyteller. After completing her B.Tech from Thapar University, Patiala, she began working in a corporate job in Gurgaon. Not known as the city of dreams, but this place gave her a path to walk towards her dreams. While following a corporate loop of 9 to 6, she started writing and narrating short stories on Instagram through reels.

Gradually, Ayushi’s relatable and heartfelt storytelling struck a chord with viewers, and a small but loyal audience began to grow.

The Rise of a New-Age Storyteller

Love from the audience became the fuel, and Ayushi decided to take a bold step, from screen to stage. Her first open mic became a turning point, where the storyteller within her truly came alive. This was probably the point of realisation where she made herself believe and understand what actual passion is, which drove Janardhan Jakhar to Jordan in Rockstar.

As her confidence grew and her bond with the audience deepened, she took another bold step of leaving her high-paying job to pursue storytelling full-time. As we can observe, today, she has built a strong online community of over 60,000 followers on Instagram.

KOTA STORIES: An Emotional Rollercoaster

Currently, Ayushi is touring across India with her solo storytelling show, “KOTA STORIES.” The show has already received an outpouring of love in cities like Lucknow, Kanpur, Jaipur, and Gurgaon. “KOTA STORIES,” her solo storytelling show, is an emotional rollercoaster, blending humor, nostalgia, and raw emotion.

It follows the journey of an 11th-grade engineering aspirant who moves to Kota, leaving her hometown behind to chase the dream of cracking the JEE. Along the way, she makes new friends, uncovers new truths, and experiences the highs and lows of growing up.

As we further spoke to Ayushi, she told us that she is planning to bring “KOTA STORIES” to even more cities. For those who miss the live experience, the show will soon be available on her YouTube channel.
